Finger feeding

This was first an emergency strategy developed by Dr Jack Newman when he was working in East Africa. I first saw his video in Perth and thought I would never be ‘doing that’. But I visited his Toronto clinics in 1999 and everything changed – it was the expression of the faces of parents that did it. Think of it this way – your finger replaces the bottle teat, the tubing supplies the milk – all principles of efficient feeding apply – no leaking, no clicking nor slurping.
